CLINTON - Richard L. Gurney Sr. of Clinton passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, April 10, 2008. He was born in Waterville on Aug. 13, 1937, the son of the late Louis and Yvette (Lessard) Gurney.
After graduating from Lawrence High School in Fairfield, Richard served his country with the Air Force from 1959 to 1963.
He was employed with Scott Paper Company in Winslow, retiring with more than 35 years of service.
Richard was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife of 40 years, Asuzena L. Gurney, who passed away in 2002; and his brother, Daniel Gurney.
